Any insider scoop on Infosys consulting? What are the projects like? I read from Google that they made big splash about their launch into management consulting few years back. How well are they doing? Any ideas on their compensation structure?

The few experiences I have had with Infosys employees cleared up any thoughts I might have had about ever working for them.My experience is purely anecdotal, but the way Infosys treats its people is in line with its low cost position. I was shocked at the conditions some of its (Indian-based employees working in Europe) were asked to put up with.

Infosys Consulting is an oxymoron. Why don't they simply call themsleves Infosys IT services? Why pretend what they're not?

I think some of you have been really harsh on the company. I dont know how many of you who have commented have really worked with 'consulting entity' of the organization. In my view they have some really bright consulting talent although many of them located in US than in Europe. Also salary levels in the 'consulting entity' is at par with IT consulting average. Associate makes GBP 70K, Sr Associate 85K, Principal 100K, Sr Principal 120K and Partner 200K+

If they are bright, what do they do in an IT company? They should work for a real management consultancy. You will not make me believe you can do real MC in an IT company. Simply because it's not their business. They need business "experts" for writing functional specifications and test cases. But that's not consulting.IT is to MC what the porn industry is to Hollywood... but less sexy!

"IT is to MC what the porn industry is to Hollywood... but less sexy!"Porn is the most profitable part of the film industry. IT is the most profitable part of the consulting industry. Working in a pure-play MC doesn't mean you're doing anything more noble, clean or original. Whichever way you cut it, you're still a corporate whore.

- Most adult movies are not profitable like many IT projects. And when IT projects are profitable for the IT company they often aren't for the customer- Developping a strategy is not more noble than implementing a crap software? LOL. You won the joke of the day!- as for who is the whore, we management consultants have ethics contrary to you IT guys always ready to sell anything to anyone, but always eager to call your sh...t "consulting". You are the disgrace of this industryPS: I apologize towards any adult movie actors/actresses for comparing them to IT consultants

Big dif between a porn star and an IT consultant: one knows they're getting screwed, the other wakes up to find they are.
