Does anyone have any information, past experiences or opinions about ea Consulting Group (eacg)? I've read the website, googled and searched this forum but haven't found any insights.Thanks.

FT ran article few days ago. Big recruitment drive at the moment. Seem to be active in UK bank restructuring. Very IT and Ops oriented. Big USP is that they have more direct in-house experience. Small but high growth. Not sure about sustainability of business model post current wave of restructuring activity. Not sure how they can help top line.

I have been engaged as an interim with ea and they play mainly in the business change space majoring on delivery and realising benefits. they have a permanenty team and also engage interims. From recollection they dont do IT at all. JK

I've been with eacg as employee or interim for the last seven years. Just some facts:* yes, operate through mixture of employees and interims; deliver both consulting and implementation. Looking both to recruit employees, and to add more experienced, referenced interims* focused on business change in the financial sector, especially the current integrations. Do deliver IT projects, but generally only as an enabling element of the overall business project or programme* see recent press about research into Project Portfolio Management in financial sector, conducted with Cass Business School* fastest growing consultancy in the UK last year (22nd overall in Sunday Times Fast Track 100)* in consulting space, Big4 people at non-Big4 pricesNot sure what Anon refers to as 'direct in-house experience'?Hope this helps, Peter

Thanks for the info so far folks. However, can I ask you to dig a bit deeper please, go past the general stuff about type of work etc. and give some insight about things such as: - caliber of staff - employee engagement / morale - social life - meritocratic vs political? - management approach - pay at market levels? - approach to employee training - attitude to work/life balance - work location of current client portfolio (e.g. London vs. South West vs. North vs. Scotland) - supporting working environment? - large project teams vs. lone rangers?I'm considering applying for a job there and looking for stuff that isn't on the corporate website.Your help would be very much appreciated.

Bob: as a current eacg employee I may be biased, but my knee-jerk reactions to your points are below. If you want more, contact me off-line at peter.andrew@eacg.co.uk- calibre of staff [stunning, absolutely stunning]- employee engagement / morale [better than market average, I suspect, at the moment]- social life [active. Going to the dogs in April. Then karting, later]- meritocratic vs political? [too small to be truly political]- management approach [hands-on and supportive, if you ask for it]- pay at market levels? [don't know, hope so]- approach to employee training [you decide what you want, then company is generally supportive]- attitude to work/life balance [enlightened]- work location of current client portfolio (e.g. London vs. South West vs. North vs. Scotland) [predominantly South, but clients nationally] - supporting working environment? [I've found it so]- large project teams vs. lone rangers? [both]I hope this doesn't sound too 'company politically correct,' because the organisation is not perfect. But I had many years at KPMG, and eacg is different. Better in some, but not all, ways.Hope this helps - Peter

Bob you sound like a novice job-hunter or an armchair consultant-wannabe. If your CV is strong punt it over to them and then get the answers from the horses mouth. Assuming you get an interview of course. At least you don't need to waste your time hanging around for answers to questions that are not even relevant.

What a stupid observation. Completely standard questions for anybody looking at the market and potential employers.

Better late than never...I'm the original poster and never did end up applying to eacg. Decided to stay at ACN since I didn't get chucked out. But its enlightening to get two sides of the coin - just reminds you not to actually put any great faith in stuff that gets written here.

Some odd comments have been made here, and someone obviously with a problem with the company. I have come across them a few times on assignments - perhaps with the same one client, that has been spoken of. I have never had a problem with them from an external point of view, and from what I hear they have a relatively open forum on reasons for those that have gone, and all have valuable reasons (no doubt anon above is one of these people). For me they look as though they are a company that do have problems (like so many) but the biggest one is that they want to grow, but have struggled to get the internal structure and right people in place to facilitate this. No doubt they have some great consultants in there, but they just need to ensure they get a model in place that can allow and accommodate for the growth.

Not really a consultancy in my experience - probably from the same client. I think the vast majority of their revenue comes from body shopping contractors - they don't appear to have any IPR (I didn't see anything anyway). They did have some decent permanent consultants a year or so ago, but they all appear to have gone - so suspect they can't hang onto those sort of people - but that's speculation. My overall assessment from seeing them from a client point of view would be very average to weak depending on the luck of the draw.

Well isn't it strange that my (somewhat critical post) has been removed. Thankfully Bob you managed to read it before it was censored by EA. Rest assured that everything that was said was true, but I guess the top-consultant advertising revenue is more important than consultants getting the facts.

Does anyone else have any information on this Group? I have come across them through a friend, and looking at a few possibilities with them, but were wondering if there was a general consensus out there, without the biased views of current employee's or what looks like a former employee complaining?
