I've done something similar at an interview for another firm, a couple of pointers:* Keep it to time - dont overrun and leave some time for questions * Make sure you know your subject inside out as be prepared for questions* Make sure you set the background to the work, dont assume just because it's another consultancy they'll know the business or the client* Dont divuldge anything to confidential as they may doubt your integrity.Good luck

Thanks, any one with some experience with E&Y?they say total time is 1 hour of which presentation time is 15 minutes. Which means Q&A fo 45 minutes. I find it to be bit too much. Quite possible that in that 1 hour partner also includes some routine resume questions. but i donot know this.If it is indeed 45 minutes for Q&A , it sounds too much.so any info / tips would help

I suspect that the 45-minute Q&A will branch out from your presentation into more general questions about your experience and abilities - it won't be solely about the issue you're presenting about.

The presentation is generally 30 minutes -- 10 minutes to present with 20 minutes for Q&A and follow-up. Although in my experience, I have yet to find a presenter who sticks to the 10 minute limit -- most overrun quite considerably. Not sure where you got the info that the presentation lasted an hour.

"Although in my experience, I have yet to find a presenter who sticks to the 10 minute limit -- most overrun quite considerably."Hmm. I've sat in on (and lost patience with) presentations that over-run on many occasions. There's nothing worse than being told that a meeting will finish by a certain time, and finding yourself still sat there hours and hours later because of poor time management. When I chair a meeting, it ends when the agenda says it's going to end! This is not me being inflexible or stubborn, but trying to instil some discipline and respect for other people's time.Software suppliers are notorious for over-runs. I've actually met with companies that didn't even get halfway through their presentation by 6.00pm expecting me to hang around for another 3 hours whilst they demonstrate their software. Not a chance, I tell them... stick some screenshots in an e-mail and give me a 10 bullet-point summary. "But that couldn't possibly do justice to our software!", they proclaim. "Well sorry about that, but I'm a busy man and can't afford to let all and sundry hijack my schedule, otherwise there's no point in even bothering to have a schedule. And besides, Corrie's good on TV tonight and this is MY time now."

Sorry, in case anyone missed it, overrunning is a bad thing. If you can keep to the allotted time, you will score many points.

Hi EYer,What you say makes sense, 10 minutes to present and 20 minutes Q&A with some slack here and there. But I have been told 1 hour as per the schedule given to me. And in the brief given I have been asked to stick to 15 minutes for presentation.Hence the confusion. Is it possible that E&Y changed some things in their recruitment procedures lately?
