Size - diminishing by the day...- Type of work (growth strategy, M&A, organization, transformation, operations, etc...?) -primarily divestiture (of body parts, goods, hope etc)- Clients - none, all gone to iraq or been blown up.- Travel - yes please, anywhere but here.- Compensation for Associates (post-MBA) - you're doing a good job, keep it up.

Ho ho ho, aren't you glad you asked for constructive advice from the knowledgeable people on this forum? Can't help with Booz, I'm afraid, but Beirut is a great city to live in. Not sure about it in commercial terms, though - even pre-crunch it wasn't enjoying the kind of boom that the Gulf, or even Egypt, has seen, and there's been a bit of a talent exodus (mainly to Dubai). But from a quality-of-life perspective, I'd much rather be in Beirut than Dubai.

Beirut is the HQ of Booz and Co in the region, it used to run as a Booz franchise but I think with the recent changes it’s now a big part of the global company. From friends working there, the Beirut office is very much there just as an excuse for the Lebanese management to base themselves there and expense their flights home every weekend, the main offices are in the UAE. Agree Beirut is a great place to be though.

That was in 2006.True that the situation is unstable, still, I'd rather live in Beirut than in any other Arab city. There's just no match in terms of culture, nightlife, and... women.

I generally agree with the above post by 'leb'. Beirut , like all 3rd world, can always erupt at any time. Foreigners who work there are compensated for bearing that risk of instability.Like most developing countries, if you are in the know, have the right social circle, yes, life will be great....like in dubai...plenty of parties and fun....lots of hot lebanese chicks too ( they like foreigners).
