Guys, I just been informed that I have an interview with Accenture in their management consulting division.I want to get into accenture REALLY bad. What do I need to show/tell them in order for them to give me that offer.If you have been rejected or know anyone that has been rejected by accenture, please tell me what caused the rejection.If you have been hired or know anyone that has been hired by accenture, please tell me what were some of the keys to successfully landing a gig at accenture.I want that accenture job BAD, and would appreciate any assisstance you can provide me with!

The original post may seem like a joke. Although i dont know the writer of the original post, I can tell you that in a vast majority of the world ( especially developing countries), the brand name of ACN, IBM, etc get you very very far , both professionally and personally. It really , um, improves your stock price in society. As stupid as this may seem ( as I personally think ACN and IBM are body shops, have you doing menial duties and pay below market), there are many people whi use it simply to improve their standing in society, and in many societies around the world, it does just that!

OK then, I'll open this up to the floor for debate. Accenture gets a bit of a kicking, especially on this forum. So tell me in the UK IT market -> Who's better ? and I want evidence to back up your claim.

Mckinsey's technology office practice... do I really need to provide evidence of this? or is it not evident already?

Obkectively speaking, McKinsey BTO is mediocre at best. It gets by on the wider firm's historic reputation.There is no one best IT consultancy, just as there is no one best management consultancy. There is not one homogenous market for consulting services - competition and comparison is only meaningful at the industry and functional level. Even the full service firms have some strong practices and other weak ones.

ACN wannabe - people are not giving you the advice you seek because your question seems uninformed.1) Accenture is the most heavily covered firm in the admissions press. There are no secrets remaining if you have done the standard research.2) Getting into Accenture is not difficult. Hence the comparisons to fast-food chains.My advice to you is to have some confidence. If you have made it to interview, then your background is of sufficient quality. As long as demonstrate that you think you're good enough to work for the firm (but don't give the impression you think you're too good), then you'll probably get an offer.ZB

As usual our uninformed friend ZB talks a load of bollox !Acn is not easy to get into, in fact its considerably harder to get into than other consultancies (I should know I have worked for 4 of them!)For experienced hires it involves a 4 yes FOUR stage interview process where you can get rejected at anytime. In some cases I have known people to have 5 interviews and still get rejected.Certainly not McDonalds.
