That's a bit like asking which is better, a flapjack or a car?Masters degrees and CIMA are different things with different aims and take different amounts of time to complete. It would also be useful if you specified what subject the Masters would be in. It's not as if they are all the same. That said, you presumably already have a degree and I would always rate professional qualifications over (another) degree. The degree fades rapidly in usefulness after graduation whilst you will always have, be credited for and be able to fall back on your professional qualification.

I have a degree in business and IT and am keen to move into a more strategic/operational area of business. I was looking at a Masters in Management (through Cass) as a possibility, but think there may be more value in doing CIMA.

You would be better off doing CIMA as you will be employed whilst you study and get a year's extra experience under your belt.I generally find that non-experience Masters in Management add little to nothing to most people's CVs and market value, although they can give non-business students greater confidence in the jobs market. Also, given that you've spent a good portion of the three or four years of your undergraduate degree studying business, I don't think you'd find much of the Masters content new or interesting.
