Hi,How does market see someone taking Voluntary redundnacy! My performance was consistent with and charegebility was high so no question I falling into the population of compulsory redundancy. However I want to cash up the package and move on to start a new job which I am confident of getting however, just don't know how I would be able to convince my prospective employer that I was neither a poor perfomer nor low chargable.Any viewsrgdsMK

"The market" (i.e. recruiters and consultants)assumes that voluntary redundancy, especially at a time like this equals dismissal on performance grounds. There's no real way around it. You could try to get a letter of recommendation, but it's very unlikely the firm will do that given the numbers of people involved. The only people who will know how well you really performed are those you worked with, and they're similarly unlikely to go out of their way to endorse you.If you aren't likely to be made compulsorily redundant, why are you thinking of taking VR? You're better to secure your new job first then resign in the usual fashion.

have to agree with p on this; i signed up for it after securing a job elsewhere- no not why i looked for a job elsewhere just lucky with timimng. equally apply for a job now, if you are backing yourself you may be able to get an offer before you leave, at which point when they do a reference on you, acn hr is going to have to say you are still employed- remember you control what detail they can give out.

I anyway wanted to get out of ACN hence, the reason for considering VR, I am in discussion for a couple of roles and should be able to materialise 1 of them soon. (could be a contract role as well). Hence, thought it's an opportunity to cash in good money which equals to my 1 year saving should I continue with ACN. However, this depends on how soon I get my next Job. I am assuming I should be able to start from 7th Jan ( though have not had anyinterview as yet). It's been just a week since I started looking for role. Applied 8 roles with employers/consultant and 4 of them responded for requesting further discussion so i would say I am getting good response from market hence, confident of considering VR.
