'Senior role' and you can't decide what colour shirt to wear? And you don't know that you should only wear double cuffed shirts? If I were you I'd be thinking of a lilac short-sleeved shirt with clip-on tie.

You can't go wrong with white. But blue might be better if it goes better with the lining of your suit.Double cuffs are unnecessary.

There are only two types of people who wear double cuffs:1) Analysts in their first week (who combine double cuffs with plain black suits)2) Bigger-boned gentlemen (who combine double cuffs with double-breasted suits)

Or the third type - the person with a modicum of fashion sense...

The fashion sense of a mid 1990's copy of FHM that is - give it another 20 years though and it'll be retro fashion.

Usually I would suggest white but if you are really pale skinned better to go with blue.Double cuffs are actually intended as evening wear only, but who cares these days; if you like dc then wear them (just avoid novelty cuff links). Mine are Dunhill, quite simple, and seem to suit whatever the occasion.

Hi Mars,It's the first time that I've heard that double cuff shirts are intended for evening wear only. I'd be grateful if you could explain or give a reference to a suitable tome of sartorial elegance.EC

I like to wear a gorgeous shimmering black silk shirt with understated yet noticeable glitter woven into the material.

I always wear a white shirt (double cuff though recently and leaning towards a slim fit single cuff more and more) and ferragamo tie

Hi EvilRead that somewhere and duly ignored it as I like to wear double cuffs most of the time.Suggest everyone should have that book by Dylan Jones, Editor of GQ - can't go wrong...
