Industry average in the majority but bands are wide and overlapping. Depends on entry route and discipline (confusingly there are some C-graded people in Technology).

Is C1 graduate level? That's a big jump from grad level £30-35k(?) to C2.

The salary ranges sound about right, although the C3 band stretches a lot higher than that. Also, they include benefits, although not bonus - which starts at C3 (C2s don't get a bonus). The benefits explains the jump from C1 to C2 - the car allowance kicks in at C2, and accounts for a chunk of the difference. Bob

Get your facts right Capt. C1s start on a package of more than 32 - so I can guarantee that there's no C2 on that little. The C2 band starts around £42k. There's a good reason for the big difference between C1 and C2 which is the car allowance, as I explained above. Also, I know that C2 band stretches to close to £50k, not £45k.

But remember that not all CG consultants come through the graduate route - the majority of the group is still those with industry experience and without degrees sitting long-term in C1 and C2 bands. They bring down the average.

possibly true in outsourcing/TS but there are no static C1/C2's in Consulting where the culture is pretty standard consulting up or out. the C1 grad intake is pretty selective - huge competition for the places, and external C2 entrants from industry are benchmarked against the output of the C1 grad training scheme so as not to dilute the quality.

At least three factually incorrect items in the above:- "culture is ... up or out"- "grad intake is ... selective"- "external C2 entrants ... are benchmarked"CG epitomises cost over quality and the replacement of consultants with outsourcing dregs unable to diagnose their way out of a paper bag.

ZB, I take it you could not get into Capgem when you applied? The Business Consulting arm is quite selective and do benchmark. That is probably why they turned you down. And they do attract the talent with their good pay for a non-strat house.

I have found the calibre since i joined very low and only the FS practice has ok people. Lots of public sector work that green grads lick up all day. i am now actively seeking another employer and would not recommend it to anyone,. pay is below also.
