Strategy work will sell, but only in limited quantities. Large, complex strategy projects aren't as popular since the only effective strategies (right now and for the next several years) for the Chinese market are those that are loosely bounded and highly adaptive.There will be a much larger market for "operational strategy" consulting (i.e. operational and organisational effectiveness) as the big challenges are for the small players to rapidly gear up to compete with multinationals whilst the large players try to adapt from being arms of the state to become commercially run businesses. Efficiency, physical and organisational infrastructure and networks, will be the big value drivers and the biggest consulting opportunities.
