Thanks for your reply gentlemen. Am I right in that LEK is good in the life sciences area? If so it would be good as my PhD was in Bioinformatics and I hope they would be interested.

Same, person but 2 replies to you.I think, yes they are, but I do not know them personally. Why don´t you call HR to ask for?By the way, don´t take it too personally, but try to enlarge your research capabilities to get a better overview what the key players in your area are...Good luck!

Not at all. Thanks for the suggestion "Dude".(Un)Fortunately I have given up on Research as my career path and hence my plans to move into MC. I have been seriously looking at getting into MBBB, as there is* much more $$$* Challenging problems that make a difference (hopefully)I have also been looking into moving to IT consultancy, but guess to reach the very top, MC is the way.

"(Un)Fortunately I have given up on Research as my career path and hence my plans to move into MC."-->Good decision, but you have to analyse the environment first in order to know what is achievable and to expect."I have been seriously looking at getting into MBBB, as there is* much more $$$ "---> in relation to what?"* Challenging problems that make a difference (hopefully) "----> MBBB do not much more interesting work, than smaller firms do. But, if you get in touch with a good team, you might get broader responsibilities from the very beginning. Cut your hopes a bit here."I have also been looking into moving to IT consultancy, but guess to reach the very top, MC is the way."------>From my opinion this is correct if you see IT as administration support and not the all-in-one device suitable for every purpose like IT people see their own business most of the time.MC is more, let´s say "classic" business admin :-)

>>* much more $$$ ">>--> in relation to what?In relation to academia and research. Plainly put, it probably would take at least 5-7 years to reach a 6 figure salary in academia/research, but I believe this would be achieved in a couple of years in MC. I also hear that for MBAs/APDs the pay starts at 6 figure (in US and Australia?), again I may be wrong here.>>MC is more, let´s say "classic" business admin :-)Amen to that!I guess at the end of the day what I want is a (legal and ethical) way to make $Millions$ some day!

Australia has all the usual suspects in terms of consulting, including that in the life sciences. All the top global consulting players are here as well. You will have to do a bit of research to find out whos good in Life sciences ( websites, HR etc). They will share that information because most consultancies need to advertise their competence in those areas ( with white papers etc). Also, the MBBB life sciences offering in australia may be small ( because the life sciences industry in aust is small). Therefore, try also to target the larger firms such as IBM/ACN/Fujitsu etc as these guys have the depth to adequately serve that industry.
