I have ten years experience of delivery projects for a variety of clients for a corporate comms agency. I am passionate about selling services to clients, understanding their brief and delivering projects on time, on budget and beyond expectation.I am now looking at the possibility of transferring my skills set into the Project Management sector of management consultancy. I do not have an MBA - does anyone have any advice?

I'm not in Project Management so my response is going to be generic.I think if you can demonstrate a track history of delivery you should be in a good position. And I think a professional qualification from the Project Management Institute would be more appropriate for you than an MBA.

Have you managed any communications projects yet? If so you might be able to use that to demonstrate your experience to consultants.

Thanks for your response. I am based i the UK, so can you let me know if the Project Management Institute qualifications are internationally recognized? Am I right in thinking the exam is based on the content of - A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)?

Yes, correct on both counts, as you've probably found by now. It is Internationally recognized and largely based on PMBOK, (4th edition due out next month)I am looking to make the same transition. Have you been able to make significant progress, yet?
