HiI need some advice from those who know!I do not have a degree or the like but have 15 years experience in commerical management incorporating strategy and programme implementation and transformation.I am looking to start contracting and although i have plenty of experience the qualification box is somewhat empty!I am thinking of maybe doing the Diploma or executive diploma in management which is accredited by the CMI togtether with a short Prince 2 qual.I need to know first whether i am wasting my time doing this course or is there something else that would be more beneficial but would not take too long to do, and also whats the best way to get started as a contractor?Your views would be much appreciated.ThanksAA

How much time do you want/you can devote to the certifications?A generic one could be good. CIMA can be done in one year if full time. Specific ones should be relevant to your experience and build on it. PRINCE2 is slightly more recognised by the public sector, the PMI certification is sklightly more sought-after in the private sector...
