Columbo - if you've ever been to a university careers fair, the format is quite similar. Firms at their stands answering questions and getting a first impression of the candidates they meet, rather than any formal interviewing taking place at the actual fair. However you should certainly assume that an impression is being formed about you at the event - I certainly know of a number of firms who encourage the more promising candidates to interact with the firm in a different way than those who they were less impressed by.Re. CV, it can't hurt to have some copies of this with you to talk through with those who ask to see it. Some firms will have a "must interview" pile where they will put the CVs of those they were really impressed by, so again this can help in bypassing the usual application procedures and getting you straight to the interview stage.Hope this helps - and see you at the Consultancy Careers Fair.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com
