after many years doing various IT consulting roles and trying to find my niche I've decided to focus on the Enterprise Architect career path.What are this forum's views on the role of an EA, the career path, salary expectations etc.thanks

As no companies are spending $ and essentially most switched on individuals have recognised that no matter what they buy MQ, Web Services, SOA, T-SQL etc is essentially just noise and they really could not give a sh1te. I would say that you should move to mumbai where It is still considered a career with prospects. Over here expect your salary to decrease to around £30k unless you know your stuff and could freelance for £500-£700 a day. Then you would be in Solutions and Integration as well as BPM and not in EA.Put flatly, unless your in a big company, dont bother, as the EA in a big company wont listen to you, its tough, but its life.
