Neutral opinion. The guy I knew some time ago kinda put me off, though... seemed to know his stuff and was friendly enough, but was kinda dismissive of employees personal needs. I don't think I would have been happy working there. I got the impression that once you join, they 'own' you.Just my personal view however. Others may have different experiences.

used to be one of the best consulting companies before bankruptcy, but all good people left and they never recovered from the brain drain. The brand is still kind of strong. Part of Altran Technologies, which is probably a bad thing (just think EDS-ATK)

Bankruptcy? From a firm that advises its clients on how to be more profitable?

I interviewed with these guys for a job in the Gulf..they appear so cash strapped that they conducted 4 interviews via the phone. I finally got to meet some guy who was the most arrogant opinionated twit...again they were too tight to even hold a proper interview and we sat in a foyer of a cheap hotel to do the inteview..my view was if they were this bad before joining-not sure how bad it was going to get...saying that the other 3 guys I spoke with during the process seemed very cool

yes Bankruptcy - I dont know how they did it, but in 2001 ADL had to file chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and effectively got out of business. 2002 Altran basically acquired the brand name and financed a management buyout of the non-US offices.By the way Bruce Henderson (founder of the Boston Consulting Group) was an ex-ADL.

ADL never recovered from chapter 11 in 2001.Although it aspires to be a top tier player it's a million miles away.Having said that, ADL varies a lot by office. The Middle East offices have plenty of work and are managing to recruit some good people (e.g. Insead MBAs) but have little in the way of organisation or basic infrastructure. Germany has some good key accounts and seems to do good work - probably closest to a top tier firm. The UK is still in startup mode, with the exception of the energy, rail, sustainability and risk practices.
