I've been a bit of a job sl*t this year and have been offered grad jobs in a few mid tier consultancies. It's been a good month and I've also just been offered a front office role in a Investment Bank, not BB but a good European bank.If you could do it all again would you stick with high brow consulting or sell your soul to an IB?Needless to say cash is better at the IB.

Hi Casio,I have just spent a year at a consultancy straight out of uni (mediocre one) pay was OK, work life balance OK, but have just accepted role at BB IB, have to say I am worried about signing my life away, but am thinking a few years in there for the £££s then move into industry...Depends on what you want in life i guess... would be lying if i wasn't concerned about losing lifw/mates/gf etc...!

Well done on getting into BB mate! Tough choices but I'm leaning in same direction as you, I can take 3/4yrs of hell for six figure bonuses!

This is a no brainer. IB all the way. Although if it's IBD, be prepared to sell your life away for the next 3 years. Oh, and with the way the market is at the moment, don't get too excited by six figure bonuses as they won't materialise.

Also, you'll be lucky to scrap 6 figures after bonus in your first 3 years, you won't be on6 figure bonuses until associate level.
