I am a 23-year-old graduate with degrees in microbiology and environmental science. I have an offer from Accenture in their MCIM group. I have a friend in the consulting industry who told me that this part of Accenture is more equivalent to the strategy firms (which, from my research, includes everything from pure strategy to sales/marketing and organization and change, etc.), while the systems integration side is much different. MCIM at Accenture includes the same groups, such as sales and marketing, org strategy, supply chain, etc. My long-term goal is to work in sustainability consulting and economic development, and I am looking for a business/strategy consulting job for 2-3 years before graduate school (MBA, MPA, etc.). Can anybody please speak to the MCIM practice at Accenture? Thanks!
