Anyone got an idea what the salary bands (plus bonus, and car allowance) are for BAS Senior manager?

£21,000 + company performance related bonus (generally a tenner) + £1/day bus allowance

£80-100k plus car £5 ish

same for snr mgr in audit?

Thanks real EY. Seems a bit low, to be honest for a role with both sales and delivery responsibilities. Is there any bonus on top of this?

That is too low. The top end is closer to £120k, car allowance £5.5k. No bonus though. I would be surprised if anyone joined as a Senior Manager on £80k.

No bonus? What is there to motivate you if there's no bonuses to work towards?

Thanks "Even more real BAS".Sounds more like the salary levels I was hoping for, particularly if there's no bonus.What is the work atmosphere like there? I hear its full of ex-ACN and IBM staff, and that it can be a lot colder than say PwC or KPMG

Although it's true that there are a fair few ex-IBMers (and only a couple of ex-ACNers), I would disagree about your characterisation of the environment as 'cold'.On the contrary, it's a very friendly team that works well together and has a very social side to it. And despite having quite a few from legacy organisations, I would say that there is a clear EY culture, distinct from that of any of the legacy organisations.

Agree with Another EYer...Its a very friendly team and I can definitely say, the culture is not the same as IBM or Accenture (atleast with FS BAS - I am in PI)Senior managers dont have a sales target...you get specific sales target from Director level onwardsNo bonuses with BAS (pretty sure Audit and Tax dont get any either)...great if you are a Partner..little bit more to take home :-)

Thanks all for this - I was been a little concerned having read some of the negative posts about BAS on here, but you've put me at easeI have a lot of experience in the retail banking sector, so I'd be interested in doing some FS work at some point. Is there ever any cross practice working like this, or are FS jobs confined to FS staff?Also, what is the policy on obtaining external training? Is it encouraged?Thanks all !

FS staff work within FS..its highly unusual that FS staff will be deployed on non-FS projects.It has happened once recently but only because of usually high demand from our public sector practice.FS is split into 4 sub-sectors - Insurance, R.Banking, Investment Management, Wholesale Banking/Capital Market (this includes Private Equity as well in which we are very strong)Everyone is assigned to a sub-sector and are the more senior you get (from Snr Manager and upper levels of Manager) - you typically tend to work within your sub-sector given that most of our work requires specialists who understand the industryHope that helps..

Thanks for this - am joining the other part of BAS, so my question is does the flow of staff go the other way.Am particularly keen not to do public sector work - how much Government work does BAS actually do ? Last thing I want is to go onto a 12 month assignment for some obscure government quango

I havent personally seen any non-FS people flow into FS and ofcourse the more senior you are..it is highly unlikely that you will be deployed outside your industry..I dont know if public sector practice has always been historically busy or not but in the last few months we have won some very big deals..so FS is getting resource requests from public sectorWhat's your industry specialism? Are you public sector background?You should check with the people who interviewed you about the nature of the work etc....you should get an honest answerIn FS its highly unusual for someone to get sent off on 12 month or longer engagements (unless its a secondment)..just not the type of engagements we do

I am a Senior Manager in London BAS (the 'other' one which covers non FS Clients)Public Sector accounts for the largest part of the practice. There are 2 or 3 large government projects and a string of smaller engagements. Consumer Products is probably the second largest area although Utilities and Teleco is starting to feature more.Hope that helps.
