I have tried on several occasions to enter management consulting from a successful career in industry. I have all the skills for consulting, plenty contacts and have had several telephone first interviews. After picking my brains, and despite saying I will go foward to the next stage, the trail goes dead. Has anyone else had this experience? Is this ageism, elitism, or am I perceived to be too expensive (irrespective of whether I divulge my current salary or not)?
