Rumor has it that the head of Proudfoot's parent Management Consultancy Group is off....due to shareholder disapproval. Everything is messy there at the moment so don't join till the dust has settled....

It's not a rumour at all - the shareholders forced change at the top a week ago. A new head of the business is now being appointed. See Reuters:http://www.reuters.com/article/rbssIndustryMaterialsUtilitiesNews/idUSL20274120080220Not sure I see why this should make it a bad time to join them though - if a new CEO improves the fortunes of the business then that's good news for bonuses, quality of assignments and retention.Tony RestellTop-Consultant.com

wow, £4.7M over 5 years?? At that kind of pay rate you could afford to retire even by mucking up the job in the first 3 months... it would probably take them a few months to actually notice you're not performing, then you would have notice periods etc... a cool £Million in the bank or so without ever lifting a finger (other than getting the job in the first place). It's amazing to think that some people earn more in 1 month than I do in almost 2 years. How on earth is that kind of productivity possible?

I have never known people associated with management consulting to articulate their views so clearly. He must have been pretty bad for the shareholders to be so blunt

Too little?Well, I know. A McKinsey director can get the same amount of money in ONE YEAR, if this makes you feel a bit better...

Not surprising....I heard that Proudfoot and its sister firms, like KSA, are shutting down in Asia. One would think that given restructuring work is one of its specialties and in such current enconomic environment, many companies will hire consultants to do the 'dirty' restructuring work & cutting of toes to cut costs.
