Hi,I have been offered the position of Technology Integration @ Deloitte. Admitedly I did put this as my first choice on the application.I am now having concerns though that my overall consultant skills are not going to be developed as well in this position as the role offered in EA.My main concern is that in TI I will not be offered CIMA training. The training is in computing.I suspect that getting into this role is going to cause problems if I look to move into a more maintream brand of consulting later on.I am very interested in technology and the way it affects businesses, but i am concerned that in this role I will not be dealing with business issues as much as I would like. I think I will be focusing on the technical side a lot more.I now feel that perhaps EA would have been a better choice as I am more interested in technology strategy than technology implementation.Comments appreciated.Bob

Bob - assuming that your are graduate-ish entry, I think that CIMA is available consulting wide

I'm starting with TI this September, and whilst I agree that the training will be tech focused I don't think it's going to have a massively detrimental affect should you decide to move on in a few years. If you can get yourself on a few good projects then you might get aligned a bit more with the strat side anyway. Are you holding any other offers?

To the original poster - give HR a call and ask to speak to an analyst in TI. (There is a scheme in place for this as part of the recruitment process). Raise your concerns and ask their opinions.
