I'm an undergraduate student, and strategy looks like a field I would like to get into in the future. What I'm wondering is for the short term, does it matter what one does (experience wise) prior to an MBA? I'm thinking technology consulting/Banking (Tech Division)/hardcore semiconductor R&D (very degree related) at present. However I know the path to the top may be slow through those fields and coming out of strategy from a top firm can launch you to the top.
