Hi All,Just move to london recently - have 4 yrs consulting experience in south africa in financial services with Accenture and 1 year industry experience & freelance after that. Looking to rejoin a consultancy here as I think its the quickest to get up to speed. My question is - what is the recruiment process for experienced consultants? Will I have to go thru the entire circus of assessments and case studies (which seems a bit silly at this point in my career)

Yes, as they want to know how good you are, not how good you think you are.

How many years?

Ex-ACN this question is a little arrogant don't you think! 4 years consulting in SA does not mean that you guarantee a position here without having to run through the process first. And plus the fact as much as it is a ball ache attending these thing's it is good experience and potentially could meet some decent people at a more senior level to yourself

from my understanding, ACN's standing/perception in South Africa is relatively higher than in the UK. South Africa is also not perceived as being as advanced as the UK. You may find this tougher than you think..... "Oh, great, yet another ex ACN guy who has been unemployed (oooops, I mean freelance) for the past year". Ooooh woopie someone who is leaving South Africa and wants to work in the UK. Please do not take this the wrong way... I am sure you are brilliant and I do know that there are some very talented people in ACN in South Africa. You may find that you have to fight a bit harder than you think to get a good level job though. That said, the market is quite strong relatively speaking. You certainly need to drop the "how great I am" piece. From your intro, you sound credible but far from unique as far as a hiring company is concerned.

ouch - thanks for the reality check. I guess my original post did sound pretty arrogant and I was asking for it :) My question was more around how many ROUNDS of interviews I should expect as an experienced hire (I am not that naive that I think positions are just going to be handed to me). I have only gone through a consultancy recruitment at grad level which was 5 rounds of tests/interviews - was hoping that if you have some experience it's slightly less than this?
