Consultants and Managers when they leave the consulting industry?Everyone seems to be offering £65K with a 10 - 20 % bonus. Is that all a Manager is worth after 7 - 9 years working at Accenture/CapGemini/Deloitte?Come to think of it. What is a person who is at Manager grade worth to industry? I am thinking banks, Oil, Telcos.

times must be tough. that is not a lot of money for the time and effort invested. I guess if you want to move into industry, you have to hope that the skills, professionalism and work ethic developed in consulting will propel you up the ladder

Someone with solid experience in the industry is worth a lot more than someone from a completely different industry such as consulting. Also in general salaries in consulting are lower than comparable roles in other industries.

Nice. 7 - 9 years of busting your a$$, working to midnight every night, putting up with stress both internally and from clients, taking on huge grad school debt, unsocial hours and massive travelling, and for what? A lousy £65K exit option. Hardly what I'd call a "fast track" career.

So where are these 80K + jobs? Do they exist? Or is contracting the only hope?
