Ok - the guy who usually sits next to me to has just been sent to Nigeria on a project for 8 months. One of my close friends has just ended up Northern Ireland for a year. Another is currently part way through a longterm project in Cardiff.I'm fed up with travel after 5 years of weeknights sleeping in dingy Travelodges or in nasty foreign cities (Rotterdam, etc). I like London and want to stay in town for a few months, but HR are bound to ask me to travel for my next project, which could be anywhere.So - here's my question: whats the best response when the inevitable call from scheduling comes? All sarcasm invited...

Which Firm are you with? The reason I ask is, if you are Accenture then you have no choice. The other big four are slightly more flexible regarding travel.

I'm not sure that's true to be honest. I'm at Acn and have never been out of town for very long. I actually crave a bit more travel and would love to get sent to some of the nice places my friends seem to go or get sent overseas for a yr on my british pounds :)

Well you could be right about ACN but I know they have sent staff as far as India. Great when you are on your gap year but not great when your trying to get on with life!!
