Could I get some opionon's on what I should do...I really can't decideA) Join a FTSE 100 company on their tech program- 9-5 day/life balance- good work environment/ - small program (promotion) - 6 months overseas B) Join Accenture - LOT more money for first 2 years (18k)- lot of competition (500+grads)- long hours + travel- Quality of life ??I know everone says it is up to me to decide if traveeling etc is for me...but if you guys were in my position what would u do..$$$ + hard work, or less cash for couple years and (probably) better lifestyle..

What a silly question... there are so many variables in that little equation, that it just doesn't make sense to ask the question.

I'd take the lifestyle. You only get to live your 20's once, so don't chuck it away for the sake of a few grand.

RE: hmmmm...I know there is a lot of variables, thats is why I am having the problem deciding, like everything...both has good and bad pointsWhat I am trying to get is the opionon of people who have been in the consulting game for a while...ie. is it worth giving up lots for the £££

take the money, experience and brand name (for what it's worth), then move on after a couple of years

Don't know why you are asking us such a question. If you can't make a decision by yourself, and still require mummy/daddy to hold your hand, then forget entering industry/consultancy. Apply to Lidl and start stacking tins. Hang on, will you post on here to ask which way around the tins should face?Grow up.

My advice - get all your questions about consulting out of the way by doing it for 2 years. Then, walk away and go back into industry. Btw, you're dreaming if Reuters will give you a 9-5 life mate.

Hi Heroes FanI was in a very similar situation to you 3-4yrs ago. ACN or REU etc. From what I hear from friends in Accenture (take it it's a grad scheme you're after) experiences are varied however there does appear to be a grief factor with extended hours and show face culture. Good prospects I'm sure after but do you want to code and work long hours? Up to you, but sometimes you should just jump and see, having ACN on your CV will not hurt! - listen to the SVP post and enjoy your 20's, you will still progress fast in Industry if you are particularly good and network well.I mixed industry and consulting but my hours have been fair and I find I have more time to enjoy myself, see friends, go to gym etc. whilst others get called in till midnight and are too tired for the rest of the week to go out for drinks. Plus I have a good lifestyle compared to ACN'ers.I have to say I'm surprised that Reuters is offering a lower starting salary than ACN - I appied to both 3-4yrs back and Reuters offered £40k+ starting for your programme plus stints in Singapore and another foreign country. Maybe times have changed? However they are a good organisation to work for - in a way their culture can be similar to Accenture.Hope that's of some use.

Cheers 'Advice'...I am leaning towards the Reuters role, as speaking to guys on the programme they really enjoy it and are getting big $ increase once off the program that equal ACN people at the same stage...Must find somewhere to live now..here greenwich is nicePS 'advice' where did u choose?

Got the card, even flowers, at least someone made a decision. Clearly you can't make one. Grow up.Reading your post, it is clear you want to earn loads for working for less. Now that is ideal if you can get it, but in reality you work your socks off to earn the rewards. My 2 cents worth is that haven't work for both sides, it isn't a simple list of pros and cons, but more on what YOU want to achieve in the short/mid/long term. Sit down for a bit and think about what you want to do and where you want to go. It is probably hard for you to do because you have been wrapped up in bubble wrap all your life. Grow up.
