In answer to the original poster:I left PA to move into industry for four main reasons:- Lack of control over the work you did, coupled with a practice that was relatively unsucessful in selling work- Limited chance to line manage until you reach PC or even MC level- Poor renumeration and reward- A loss of belief in senior managements ability and credibility to deliver new 'propositions/initiatives' that genuinely offered insight to clientsWas it the right step to leave / where did I go:- I moved into a strategy role within telecoms firm- I am now responsible for delivery of large scale strategic projects, managing the work of others and reporting to the CFO/CEO/Shareholder board on a regular basis- I obtained a large pay rise at the point I moved and this has continued with substantial pay increases and bonuses So in summary definetly the right decision for me, but it varies dependant upon where you are with PA and where you are thinking of going!
