Hi everyone I am hoping that someone can help with this. I am not an Economist or Business Major but was recently asked how one would calculate the price of a patent. I was unable to answer the question but would really like to know.Lets say company A has patented a drug and company B wants to buy the patent from company A. How does one calculate the price company B should/has to pay?Any help would be greatly appreciatedcheersMS

easy, just work out what it's worth to you or what someone else will pay for it. maybe auction it off with a reserve price equal to the estimated profits you could make from it yourself

If an existing illness maybe work out number of suffers in UK from GP/NHS existing stats. Estimate number who would purchase at price X.20 yr patent.Throw in some NPV.I think it's an analytical approach they are looking for, not the actual value of patent X (assuming this is an interview question).
