How is the CFA qualification thought of, both in consulting and more broadly in IB, PE, FS etc?

It is thought of highly in PE and banking but most consultants are so thick they wont even know what it is until they google it. If you can get the full CFA then it is worth it even in consulting cos it is something the FS clients would like to see but if you just intend to get the CFA level 1 or level 2 then that is really only useful in the FS sector i.e. PE, IB etc

Difficult to get the full CFA (in consulting) as you need 3-4 years of proven relevant experience. However the SII Diploma might be also a good option.

By levels 1 & 2 and full CFA do you mean the years of study? My understanding is that it takes 3 years to acquire the full qualification, whereas level 1 would be 1 year of study and so on.Are ther any comparible qualifications out there that are equally regarded / more highly regarded?
