Just wanted to know what yes and no's people have so far. I have been rejected by Credo, Mck and Booz.I have first round interviews with ACN, Deloitte and an assessment date with Oliver Wyman. Marakon sent me an e-mail saying I had made it to the final section of CV screening and I rang Bain today, they told me my application was still being considered and they would get back to me in the next few days. Still waiting on LEK, Arthur D., AT K, Roland Berger and Monitor. What about the rest of you grads?

No luck from Mck, BAH and Monitor. Still waiting on ACN and Roland Berger.Having much much more luck with the banks despite consulting being my preference.

What banks have you applied to? I may need to rethink my strategy too, as I have had rejection from McK, BCG, BAH and Monitor.Have interviews with Accenture and assessment day with Oliver Wyman. But I need to look elsewhere. Seems to be tough to break into consulting at entry level when you a)are not from Oxbridge b) don't have any contacts in those firms.

Going so so at the moment...Interview with Deloitte (Strategy) in Jan after passing the numerical/verbal test - waiting to hear back on PwC (Strategy) after sitting numerical test and same with KPMG. Straight 'No' from Mck, LEK, Bains, OC&C...No reply yet from PA consulting...

Anyone know of any banks that are still accepting applications?

Just check the deadlines on the websites. However, I think a lot of positions are defo gone now and know that's the case for BarCap, HSBC and some others.

When did you guys hear back from Monitor and BAH? I've still heard nothing.....

Monitor was some time last week. BAH was yesterday, but I had to call them to find out.

I heard from BAH today, via e-mail. Does it actually mean anything if you haven't heard from a firm, or is it simply a matter of processing order? I don't know whether the absence of response is good or bad.

Not sure, I guess it just takes them a while to get through them all as I got a call from credit suisse yesterday and applied quite some time ago.

How about Parthenon. Any news from them yet?

folks, you only get one shot at this. get your applications in early for a select few. if they don't stick, you need to figure out what was wrong with your application. Get advice, practice and do everything you can to nail the interview. Do not fall into the trap I once did.. once company put us up in a nice London hotel overnight and took us out on the beer the night before. Like many final year students, the smell of fresh ale was too hard to resist. You do not want to be attacking case studies with a hangover...

This seems an obvious point 'Old Timer' but i totally agree you and one I will keep well in mind - although sitting here now I would like to think I would never be so stupid - with the lure of a nice hotel, free drink and enjoying myself meeting new people it could easily spiral out of control.....so its good to make a concious plan now I think......self-control will be administered that night!! Like you say - theres only one shot...

You say only one shot....in reality, is re-application to a company that rejected you without interview necessarily going to fail. Don't they delete your deails after a year anyway? Mind you, with the arrogance of firms like Mck, I wouldn't be suprised.

Yea I know its technically not one shot - but its one shot for that year...as then theres the 12 month wait for it all to come around again (more or less) ...and when you consider reducing the beers for that 12 month wait just for one night I think 'Old Timer' has a good point...

It was a great night and two of the guys went on to become teachers.... I would not underestimate the MBBB's databases in particular. I guess you might slip through the net but i have known guys pass interviews at advanced hire level years after the failed a graduate interview only to be turned away from senior jobs. In one case, it was particularly ridiculous as the guy had been rejected in the height of the market crash - the company inquestion probably did not hire anyone that year!!

Yeah, that's pathetic. This guy who gave a strat day at Credo had the same experience. He said he got headhunted to a role at Mck, but because he failed the interview at undergrad level, couldn't proceed. He seemed highly capable, too.

Majority of bank roles have gone as I understand but at early stages with Coutts, ICAP & Barcap (intern). Good time to submit internship applications at the mo, and worst case scenario will apply for grad next sept when finished MA.In regards to Seekers comment, I generally feel the longer it goes on without hearing back from a firm the less chance you have. That has been the case so far.In regards to Javiers comment, I didn't apply to BAH but have only just this week heard back from Monitor. Also just heard a no from Parthenon yesterday aswell, not a good day. Still haven't heard from OC&C though.

Hope I am not hijacking the thread:What to people think about a final year applying for banking internships? Will I be automatically filtered out by computer systems/ HR in India?I plan to take a year out before I start a strategy role (already accepted offer). However, I would quite like to get some experience in banking to see if maybe I should consider that instead.

The banks internships are designed for penultimate year students and that includes if you are going to do an MSc. You may be elligble for off-cycle internships but it may vary from bank to bank on policy.

Heard back from Bain today, having applied 21/Oct.- 1st round early Jan.- 2nd round late Jan, if successful.

I got my numerical results from OC&C yesterday, day after the test. Heard from Parthenon yesterday too.Has anyone heard back from Credo? I'm still waiting. Also PwC strat haven't repied.

'Miss Firingsynapses' today was the final day to take numerical test for pwc strat...So I guess we will know by the end of the wek when they have them all in.

I heard back from MK almost a month ago. Got a rejection. Maybe no news is good news?

They might focus on interviewing the people that they want and get back rejections to us after their jobs are done!

Yes rejection. Took a while though. Only got it a few days ago. On the otherhand, all my other interviews have gone well, through to second round at Monitor and BCG. Got more coming up such as CVA case interview tomorrow, ACN in Jan. It's all pretty stressful stuff but let's hang on in there! It's all a learning curve!

I just took the pwc strat test, it didn't seem too bad, not nearly as hard as the gmat as least. Today was the last day was it? How many days worth did they do? They only sent me the email this morning and scrolling down I saw deadling was 12 december. Any ideas when we can expect to hear back from them? I'm guessing soon, before everyone leaves on holidays.

Still haven't heard from bloody Monitor, if people are through to the second round already it isn't looking good.

yeah really annoying. I remember them saying that they had 1000 applicants for 30 places and took 200 through to first round so I fancied my chances there.
