I reckon you need to jump through four hoops to get into MC:1) Raw analytic power (tests/brainteasers)2) Case study3) CV4) PersonalityI had weaknesses in 2 & 3.2 comes with practice. Buy books ('Vault' guides are pretty good), read, and get friends/family to test you if possible. Always remember to structure everything from the word go.3 is about having worthwhile achievements & selling them. Straight out of uni, CV wasn't brilliant, and selling skills non-existent (too complacent, really). After MC rejections, I joined a finance grad scheme in industry (i.e. not Big 4 / practice), and tried to get worthwhile XP (& a professional qualification). I went out of my way to both ace the day job, and also get involved in external things (like recruitment into the grad scheme; private tutoring; sports). Partially to develop, but mostly to have fun if I'm honest. That's my 2 cents, anyway.
