It looks like my chances at management consulting are pretty slim. I am considering industry or finance (not accounting) grad schemes. I know this is wandering off the subject of this forum, but could anyone recommend any good financial/industry grad schemes that may enable me to move into either consultancy at a later date?

P&G, Unilever, Shell, BP...

Get a list of FTSE 100 (or go for smaller firms if you prefer) - delete any that do not fulfill the following criteria:- Offer grad scheme (visit websites/use grad career publications events to find out if they offer a grad scheme)- Delete any that are not involved in finance/industry (do you mean financial services companies rather than those with a finance function?)- Apply own criteria as to whether you consider them to be good or not (usually easier as the process develops i.e. no firm idea - research - interview - interview some more - get experience on grad scheme)
