it is not a stupid question - I had to trawl through yards of threads before I uncovered the answer.I don't know why some people seem to think that newcomers were born with innate knowledge of sector specific acronyms

The point is, if you type in:+"MBBB" +"consulting firms"into Google you get your answer straight away.

....Also, if one is even remotely serious about getting into Consulting, the knowledge of the top Firms surely follows.I didn't know a thing about the acronym. I DID know that the big players were McKinsey, BCG, Bain and Booz. Everything starts to make sense then. No googling. Just a bit of deduction. However, let's give this person a break though, now. Shall we?

ok well I actually have an offer from one of those firms so I must be doing something right!!! Good job they didn't ask me that at the interviews, mind you, they probably wanted to know important things like the fact I wouldn't judge/criticise someone who asked a simple question.

I am very new to this forum but find the people here are extremely helpful and quick to answer almost all imaginable problems (check threads on appropriate lunch venues and the mystery of the girl who can't be named....).

No it was that new one, Burger Star. I liked the friendly collegiate atmosphere and also they informed my that as they were small and rapidly growing there would be unlimited opportunities for promotion. Sounds good I know, maybe you should apply to Boots, 'realist' told me they were MBBB and you might even get a staff discount on some stuff to stop that itching on your chin!!!adios
