Hi there,I was wondering if any of the more experienced consultants could help me on this rather trivial yet important question....I have just completed 2 years on the graduate scheme of a large full service consultancy....and for the first time applying for ' experienced hire' positions in other consultancy firms...is it normal practise to specify client names? My worry is around client confidentiality and the impression this may give to prospective employers? or maybe I am just worrying far too much??Thanks for your advice

Which consultancy are you from? Remind me never to expect confidentiality from that firm. T my firm consultants receive very clear/strict guidance that they certainly shouldn't reveal client names. Size (e.g., FTSE 100) and industry are fine, but not if there's any chance that it (in combination with project description) could reveal the identity of the company. This is pretty basic stuff.

unless the projects are in the public domain, e.g. if everyone knows consultancy X worked on project Y then you should be fine to state this, agree with previous poster on confidentiality
