Hello everyone. Some time ago I started a thread about money saving tips and ideas for making a little bit of extra cash on the side. Some of the ideas were really good... they have made a real difference to my personal cashflow situation. However, as always, my low salary requires that I continue searching for yet more ways to stretch my paycheque that little bit further still, or alternatively to look for even more ways to earn just a little bit extra on the side to help with day to day living expenses.I would be very grateful if people would share some ideas/tips with me. Thank you in advance. Mr S. Kint.

Ever thought about renting out your bottom when away in hotels at client sites? You will be away from home (so no-one will recognise you), meet lots of new and interesting people and it's a good way of filling those long and lonely evenings.

Sorry if this is an obvious point - but why can you not move to a job that pays more? its not that hard in the UK.

Not gonna rent out my bottom, personal issues prevent that.Getting a job that pays more is obviously an option but if possible I'd prefer to avoid all the hassle and the change in lifestyle that would be associated with that.

So is that your way of saying you want/need more money but can't be bothered with the hassle of earning it or getting of your (apparently unviolated) backside and getting a better paid job? If so you deserve to be S.Kint.

That's not what I said. I said I'm looking for ways of saving money to make my existing salary go a little bit further, and maybe also some ideas for making a little extra money in addition to what I earn with my current employer. I have considered moving jobs and can appreciate that this is one option for increasing my income quite significantly, but I want to explore other options for the time being. The reason for this is that I quite enjoy what I do and I want to stay with my current employer because they offer a healthy work-life balance, but the salary isn't very good and I'm hoping I can find ways of making ends meet without changing jobs.

hmmmm...... so what will happen to that healthy work-life balance when you start your part-time job? What will your current employer say if the P/T work interferes with your F/T job? You know it will - either in terms of you being shattered or not fully focused on what your doing. You should ask for a payrise or move jobs - at least you'll get some recognition for putting in the extra hours.

what you are saying is very stupid and can easily be illustrated by simple economics. you are trying to increase your disposable income by reducing your costs - not by increasing gross revenue. you will hit the floor and not be able to decrease past a certain point. get a life looser.

Wow, such hostility!Pirlo - I'm looking to cut costs a little, not obliterate them. Simple ideas such as 'take your own sandwiches into work instead of buying them' have saved me literally thousands over the years. Those are the kind of suggestions I'm after.anon - re: generating a little extra income, I'm talking about little bits and bobs I can do to make a couple of hundred extra every month. Fixing people's PCs, doing surveys, maybe even delivering leaflets in the evenings. I'm not looking to take on a major second job!

Could be an interesting one to investigate, it's called Slivers of TimeHope this helpsTony RestellTop-Consultant.com
