Hi, Can anyone help me identify which consultancies, and recruiters, deal with emerging markets?I am particularly looking for business & technology, change & transformation, project & programme management specialists operating outside the 'developed world'. Can anyone please point me towards firms? Thanks.

One option would be to look at established consultancies and apply to their 'emerging markets' offices (most of the 'global' consultancies will have offices in BRIC while many will also have Eastern Europe and maybe even Sub-Saharan Africa).

Thanks MBB, I had a look at this, and most established firms seem to operate more on a national basis (run as country P&Ls). What I'm looking for is companies supporting UN/World Bank/EU etc development funding, or similar - BE do, are there any others? Thanks.

It sounds like you want to do some development-focused work rather than 'emerging markets' per se (when I think of emerging markets, I think of Macquarie going and gobbling up Middle Eastern infrastructure companies). I know that a couple of the big consultancies: BCG, McKinsey do a bit of development work -often pro bono (I think PwC do some more operational stuff, but got slated by ActionAid for costing too much IIRC). I personally don't know of any consultancies where you can join to just do this type of work (as opposed to being a generalist who tries to spend a good chunk of their time on development projects).

MBB - good article; hmm - good question,I'm not aiming at 'developing' (or 'developed') countries, but the ones in between. Take a look at:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerging_marketsAlso, this looks like a big area of business - question is, how to get into it...Thanks.
