What is the general impression of KPMG Consulting(reputation, work/life balance, training, variety of client projects, quality of projects)?

My impression - bean counters who call themselves consultants.

Good in some areas, weak in others, pay si below the average - for a reason.

In terms of the accounting bodies, probably the smallest consultancy, with the fewest clients. Wage levels are very low, and bonuses are also capped at low levels

The other side of the coin is that people generally work si less hours at KPMG and have a good work-life balance. In addition, while relatively small, KPMG are not trying to be large either.

Should also add that in many areas KPMG is actually larger than EY and PwC.

In audit and tax perhaps, but not in the consulting market. KPMG are small and shrinking here...

I don't get all of this chit chat about which firm is better than the other. It depends totally on the team and the people you will be joining - the firm may set the parameters but in reality you will just be another number bringing in the cash.KPMG is a prime example - a good company to work for where the salaries are marginally lower yes, but the overall package (hours, support, development etc) answers many of the complaints that we see on this board every day.So the parameters are good - but you need to concentrate on how you feel with the people you will be working for/with to get a real indicator. Within KPMG there are good and bad teams and leaders, as in any business - just make sure that you pay attention to the detail not just the brand.Plus, half of the opinions on this forum are ill-informed, biased through personal experience and not worth the clients time they're written in.
