New analyst advice - moving within ACN SI&T?

I joined ACN into their SI&T sector (SAP) as a graduate. I can't say SAP was my first choice but ACN's HR put me in there anyway(!). I have since been involved in a long term project with great visibility from senior managers and the like. The thing is, I don't want to be pidgeon holed into this field of work. It's interesting for now - but I can't see myself wanting to do it for years to come.My real interests lie in infrastructure consulting. For the moment, I think I will plough on and try my best - and hope that in a years time, I can ask to move sectors? Is this a good tactic to take?Additionally, my career councillor is at quite a high level in this field of work - I'm worried that me requesting to move will be a conflict of interest....I dunno whether it is company etiquette to frankly tell them that I'm finding it a little...dull?Your advice is much appreciated :)

I forgot to add, but is being choosy at this early point of my career seen badly by companies and managers?

Its like having a spear driven into the chest of every Accenture person who hopes we are still a “real” consulting firm. MrE, I would urge you to consider that this is a public forum and as such your badly written and frankly rather immature post reflects terribly on our organization. Please, please, please… use some common sense.

My first bit of advice is to ignore these petty idiots. I think they need a weekend. My second is some advice that an Accenture partner gave me: Nobody gives a sh1t about your career except you. This means that it's up to you to manage the change. You need to find out about opportunities in your chosen area, build some contacts on that project and put yourself in the right place to get the role.If it causes problems with your career counsellor, get a different counsellor!Good luck. The rest of you, get a sense of perspective.

Totally agree with Grr.Its your career, dont let other people decide it for you if you know what you want. However, working a year or a couple of years on something might actually be good even if u dont like it 100% atm. You alway learn stuff. The worst thing I know is when these consultant companies keep sending people who dont actually have any real knowledge at all or real experience att all telling us what to do. So if u have some real experience from actual stuuf u have done then atleast I would respect your opinion much more when you advice me.As for spelling and grammar -> This is an internet forum ffs, not the official homepage of ACN or whatever.
