Hi I'm currently working in small strat house about 25 consultants it’s very qualitative and requires no head for stats or mathematical ability which suits me fine. However I'm looking to apply for an MBA at UCLA for 2010 (far thinking I know) looking to score well in the GMAT the English part is fine no problems there but as I said I’m weak in Maths and have struggled on previous entrance test to the bigger consulting houses.My question is thisHow do I improve (if I can) my maths skills for the GMAT and would an MBA from UCLA be a good move I'm 26 years old and have nearly two years under my belt?Thanks for any views

Short (and only) answer - Work your ass off and train your brain by doing both intense maths practice every day for 30mins or so and 1000s of GMAT questions over a 3-6 month period. Sounds like a lot of work I know but its the only way!

I agree, sadly the only way of improving your maths, is to do loads of maths. It's labourious but it will be worth it, and you'll be suprised how quickly you improve!As for UCLA, go for it. My view on MBA's is not totally positive, but as an experience it will be first rate.
