I have a question for the strategy consultants at the elite firms:I currently work in the business consulting practice at Accenture (MCIM practice). My question: What career move would be most conducive to getting a job at a top strat firm, assuming I attend a top business school in 3 years? Would a move to industry or to a boutique strat firm be looked upon highly? How about a move to a firm like BAH? Are there any ways you can advise to get to such top strat firms before an MBA?Thanks for any comments.

I would say do your MBA and then think about the move. You can get some very good experience at Accenture but you need to see it through and seek out the opportunities. I am in a similar position and 3-4 years at ACN (assuming you are in strategy) and then top 5 MBA is a pretty good route to take.

Difficult to move pre-MBA but has been done (from Strategy anyway). Just apply and see what happens.
