I've 3 years experience in IT consulting and relocating to Newcastle to be closer to family. My current employer is niche and doesn't have offices oop north. Anyone know which consultancies operate up there? Otherwise, are there any good IT companies with offices there?I've has a look at accenture but it looks like the positions advertised are entry level.Any help greatly appreciated!

Try 'Business and Decision' - they have offices in Sunderland

Sage are big in Newcastle as well

Deloitte have an office and a consultancy team in Newcastle, who work on projects across the UK.

I currently work at Mck and I know they were looking to develop a presence in Newcastle, Bain already has an office. Most of the work seems to be around the strategic issues facing the North of England: namely pacifying the drunken moronic behaviour of Northerns

You could also try Hedra and BT both of whom ar rec ruiting. Basically if you are prepared to travel where you are based makes less difference but it will make networking with your colleagues a little more difficult.By the way 'anon' - it's Notherners or has literacy not managed to make it south of Watford yet. I hear McK are opening an office in Newcastle and Bain are also considering their long-term geographic strategy. I think this has been spurred by the glut of work up North. Most of the work seems to becentred on the key principle strategic and operational challenges the North faces, namely: Establishing a strategic framework and coherent implementation plan for the pacification of the moronic, drunken, foul-mouthed, Sunsports page reading Leeds United and Newcastle United supporters who continue to blight this wonderful country.
