I got an offer from Accenture for M3 . I am now wondering if I should try to negotiate for SM position . Is it good to negotiate now or take the offer and climb my way up to SM . In terms of expectations , what are the differences betweem an M3 and a SM . I have 9+ yrs of exp in consulting.On the salary front , can I negotiate on the basic salary ? what are the add ons that I can ask for ? Please can anyone advice as I have to get back to them pretty quickly.

It will take you at LEAST 24 months to get to SM from M3. what area are you joining?

Are you sure? I thought it went m1-m3 then SM if promoted on time.

can i ask what your basic is as an M3?M3 to SM is a massive jump - and it usually takes 24+ months - i know technically it should take 12 months but very few M3s make it to SM the first time round. There is a big M3 population at accenture so lots of competition.
