Hi!Can anyone tell me whether or not employees at top strategy consulting firms are allowed to blog on the Web and identify themselves as firm's employees? Can you point to examples of such blogs?

Well i was employed by Microsoft and they never minded us blogging. In fact they encouraged it, so i assume for a top strategy firmit would be fine.

Microsoft is renowned for encouraging blogging. Consulting, law and i-banking are quite different though. You can get into serious trouble for blogging, let alone identifying your employer online. Microsoft has a vested interest in demonstrating the technological adeptness of their staff, and keeping on the edge of consumer trends. Consulting, banking, etc. market themselves by managing their brands to be as mystical as possible. For example, don't imagine that just because MBBB gets slagged off directly less often, people are much more content. Those firms just crack down a lot harder than Accenture or Deloitte ever bother to do. There is also a certain culture in some firms that if you reveal how mundane the work really is, you're thrown out of the "club".
