Related question - does anyone know what the grad starting salay/package is for Sept 2007/early 2008 joiners? When I went to the PA presentation in my final year they gave out a factsheet with a full breakdown of salary, car allowance, flexible benefits allowance, etc. That was a couple of years ago - has anyone seen a copy of the latest factsheet?

Talk about strange. What kind of kook would slam their employer in a public forum, and then post such a moronic response to requests that they explain their comments.

Hi Rippy, you are lying. Nobody has started in the manufacturing practice in the last few months leave alone weeks. Manufacturing practice is under a sort of hiring freeze. Secondly, once you are in PA it is very easy to find out salaries, as people what are the IBRs and you can easily guess salaries. But as an outsider, which you are, you wont have a clue

how would you find out the salaries from the IBR? Also, if i know things like top down thinking, KI, ICR, ECR and the fact that Bruce is leaving this winter and there has been a major resuffle of IS recently, i think you'll find I am a PA er.

You can't tell salary by IBRs. If you have, you've come to the wrong conclusions, pal!

You can tell salary range from IBRs but not the exact salary, from my experience the rough guide is you take the proportion of your own IBR to salary, apply it to someone else and it's somewhere plus or minus 5 grand they'll be sitting on. Quite a broad range but still when you get to the senior ranks you can certainly see quickly who the big money earners are.

THe partner interview is likely to be informal and based on your CV. It is as much about whether you "fit" in terms of how you come across and how you answer their questions.Good luck!

I think you can infer salary from IBR, however, you need to ensure you compare locally. For example, the relationship between IBR and salary will be very similar for people in the same practice at the same in the same office. Some practices have much lower utilisation targets so their IBRs are higher (they need to charge out higher as they are utilised for less time per year).Similarly more senior ranks IBRs are much higher because they spend less time working for clients and more on internal / sales stuff.I imagine geography has a big impact on IBRs due to relative overheads.
