Could anyone give me some advice as to some companies that specialise in International Devlopment? I see that PA certainly are, but from what I can gather from the website this area is dealt with by their US office. I live in London and am determined to get into the Consultancy business. I have been working in Publishing for 2 years, speak fluent Spanish and studied Politics at University. I would therefore love to combine all 3 of these areas. Does anyone think I am asking too much?? Any advice would be much appreciated as I have had no response when trying to deal directly with the consultancies. Perhaps I need to get 'a foot in the door' before specialising??Thanks! George

PA Consulting in London do work in teh International Development arena. Contact Julian Laite (Partner) Julian.Laite@paconsulting.com. Other consultancies you might want to try are Atos Consulting (Public Services where there is a team that does mostly DFID work - contact Claire Howard (Managing Partner); Adam Smith International, Maxwell Stamp, Crown Agents to name a few. You will probably need to demonstrate public sector experience or a particular area of expertise, eg financial management, HR. Good luck!

There is an outfit called "Corporate Solutions" based in Harrow which do a lot of international development consulting work. Don't know them well enough to comment on quality or if hiring but give them a call.
