I just bought a pair of Grenson shoes on sale at 240. Can anyone reccomend them ? Im just checking cause i can bring them back before wearing them if need be

I have had a pair of Grenson shoes for just over a year - the Dundee model I think. They're very good and are holding up well. Excellent quality leather. Mine cost just £100 though, so I can only imagine you're either getting a very high end model or the sale wasn't much of a bargain.

Maybe it was 2.40 when he bought them...

240 for shoes is perfectly reasonable. A man will only have a few pairs - oftentimes women have more than a dozen. Church shoes cost 350 at full price - take that as a benchmark.

I've been to the Church's factory in Northampton on a job. They may have been bought by Prada but the sight of fat northamptonians sweating over pieces of leather whilst surrounded by numerous page 3 sheets pinned to the wall was not one I associated with glamour or fashion!They do have a factory shop though so I am set for life with all of my discounted footwear.Two left feet anyone?

Don't spend £350+ on a pair on 'me too' brogues, spend approx £150 on a pair of Jeffery West's (not M&S's cheap versions) - distinctive and cool - although they make your feet hurt until you've worn them in.

And what brand should women be wearing to impress?

For women, brand isn't important - it's the number of pairs you have that matters. You have to keep them on display next to your desk - the more pairs you have, and the more often you change them during the day, the more impressive you look.

I had a look at the 'shoes' site and googles these items of footwear expecting them to be fashioned on ones feet using only the labia of squirrels.I was surprised to see they are:1. leather2. Machine made3. Look like cheap shoesI have bought better from Next or M&S for £40, hand stiched by peasants in malaysia who I hope were beaten without mercy to develop shoes for me (I like cheap luxury footwear).Next time I go to a meeting I will keep an eye out for the shoe watcher.
