Hey all, apologies for the blatent plug but I've used Top Consultant many times before and I thought poeple here might be interested in what I've got to offer- plus it would be great to get some feedback! I'm ex Dunnhumby (Group Client Solutions Director), now employer of freelance consultants and co-founder of Huddle - a powerful new way for consultants and freelancers to manage projects and deliver professional service to clients.Have a look at www.huddle.net and let me know what you think....or better still sign up - it's free :)

Whoa whoa whoa Al, I like your candour, at least you're upfront unlike sneaky Andrew and his tagging. But I have a couple of questioins:In what way is it powerful? That's a pretty big word to use. Isn't it more useful?

It looks fairly cool and I can see the applicability and benefits. I will go back and read the website more fully and do the tour when I have more time.I can see the benefits of having a hosted external web-based service so that when you want to set up a project with a client you don't have to spend 3 months setting them up with remote access to your network, or find someone in your respective IT departments capable of configuring Notes or Sharepoint to play nicely.I can see some of my clients still wanting to host all collaboration locally due to their IT security policies (even if I believe that 3rd party services are often more secure and reliable than a lot of their systems).I also have clients for whom I do repeat work or interspersed work on long term projects over the course of several months/years. With my firm's (outsourced) system we can leave the collaboration content dormant and come back to it later without any additional costs beyond what the client pays upfront. With an external service there'd presumably be continued hosting costs to keep that material online for reference. I guess this is less a problem with the Huddle service than an issue about potentially having to change the way I position and bill online collaboration tools as part of my service offering.I might be interested to give this a go with a smaller client and project. I don't feel particularly loyal to my firm's system as it's outsourced, we don't make any markup on it, and it's just not very good. However, I don't think I'd muster the critical mass to make a big hosted application system worthwhile. Therefore this might be suitable.
