I was recently at an interview with an MBBB firm...I met my interviewer and all was very nice, he explained the format of the interview and then we went straight into the case study. As far as I could tell all was going well, I was coming up with good suggestions and following a good structure. Then came the CV section of the interview to which the interviewer began 'so Michael how are you finding Cambridge, I was also at Jesus college'. I looked rather confused as I don't go to Cambridge and told him so. Turns out he had me confused with another Michael he was interviewing later. He apologised for his mistake but then looked quizzically at my real CV for some time before asking me if I felt I would fit in at the firm. In my desperation to get the job I gave a suitable answer but in hindsight (especially given that he ended the interview early pretty soon after that and my subsequent rejection for 'lack of fit') I would have much rather told him that coming top of my year while playing for a uni sports team and going out at least twice a week was much better than a piece of paper with 'Cambridge' at the top.Wow sour grapes are good to b*tch about sometimes!
