So Guys,What do you all use as excuses to go for interviews, especially when your based in the field?

easy - called to client site.

i can't get away with that one because i work on small projects where everyone knows exactly what's going onso, i have to use the usual "sick day" routine. if based in the field i can't think of anything better than to book some holiday really

Had a particularly suspicious boss a few years ago... A complex family situation led me to suffering from anxiety and insomnia. Had to book a doctor's appointment because I was worried by the fact that I had twice overslept and turned up to work 2 hours late (that's 3 interviews covered...). My now wife - then fiancee - had some gynacological problems that I did not want to talk about but she needed a lot of support at the time and her needs must come first (catering for the short notice interview). I then had to take my cat to the vet for an emergency treatment. Also,rapidly declining health in the office the day before you are going to interview works well. If you really pull it off, your boss will be advising you to take the next day off. General tiredness, regular visits to the toilet. Try something shocking like "is it unusual to cough up blood - I'm sure it's nothing serious and we have a lot of work to get through". If possible, try to group interviews together - being off for 2 or 3 days is more believable than 1 day and returning looking spritely the next. Another tip is to force yourself to go to work when you feel absolutely terrible (this is long term planning). This way you are regularly seen in the office looking ill. If you actually take time off, it will be assumed that you must be in a really bad way. When taking a phone call, try to ensure that you head is well below your feet - put yourself in an uncomfortable position. This will ensure that you sound strained on the phone...

Unknown - what are you doing instead? I'm tempted to leave MC as well, the pay just isn't good enough considering how much harder you have to work.

Some excuses to use to get some time off are:<br>Repair men coming round e.g. The gas man, man to fix the intercom for your flat.<br>Taking delivery of furniture, sofas, Plasma screen<br>Have to sign for a recorded delivery e.g. books, electronic equipment, car parts<br>Have an appointment with an embassy for holidays e.g. Cuba, <br>Dentist, Optician appointment<br>Relative/Friend is coming to stay and you would like to work from home in the morning so you can pick them up in the car in the afternoon. You then go to your interview in the afternoon.<br>Take car to the mechanics<br>Return goods to a store<br>I could go on and on and on but there are millions of ways of getting time off for interviews. The key is to spread them out so it is not to obvious or line them up in a row and block book some time off e.g. Holidays, days in lieu.Once you have decided you want to leave a firm, telling the odd porky pie to get time off for an interview will be the least of your worries.Good luck and I hope you get the job you want.

But however bad, i expect ill be working about half the hours that I am now, but for a fair bit more cash!More importantly, i&apos;m going to have a social life and will never ever eat a Hiltonburger again.There is plenty out there for us. I agree with the pattern theory proposed by "here you go". I had 2 migraines on consecutive Thursdays, and set myself up for an appointment with the doctor for the week after. This method allows for 3 interviews, but is only regarded by your boss as one problem, or one event. Seriously, if I&apos;d used quotation marks to express a hidden meaning for phrases in the above paragraph, you wouldn&apos;t have been able to read the text!Keep well,Sicknote
